August 10, 2011

Treasure Island Resort & Casino is pleased to welcome the highly acclaimed band, Loverboy, at 8 pm on Thursday, September 15.  Loverboy burst on to the music scene in 1980 and was immediately heralded as one of the most energetic and dynamic live performances of the time.  Over 30 years later, they are still selling out tours and jam packing arenas with the same amount of intensity and excitement that originally thrust them into the limelight.

Loverboy defined a generation with their trademark red leather pants and thundering rock sound.  These trendsetters were among the first to be featured on the station at the forefront of pop culture on MTV.  Loverboy sealed their superstar status with their top 5 single “Heaven in Your Eyes” that was written for the blockbuster movie Top Gun.

The group has earned an unprecedented six Juno Awards, four multi-Platinum albums and numerous international Gold albums with classics such as “Working for the Weekend,” “Lovin’ Every Minute Of It,” “Queen of the Broken Hearts,” “Hot Girls in Love” and “Turn Me Loose.”  Loverboy was honored and their achievements were recognized when they were inducted into the West Coast Music Hall of Fame.

Driven by the powerful vocals of Mike Reno and the relentless rock groove of lead guitarist Paul Dean, Loverboy garnered four multi-Platinum albums and numerous international Gold albums from 1980 to 1987. Hit singles came one after another, becoming anthems and party songs of an entire generation of rock concert going fans.
