Battle of the Bands Finale at Treasure Island

Red Wing, MN (November 19, 2009) Treasure Island Resort & Casino is giving six bands a chance to win cash prizes and a contract to perform at Treasure Island’s Parlay Lounge. Treasure Island’s Battle of the Bands competition has three phases; the initial on-line application where people could listen to the bands and vote. After several weeks of online voting, the twenty-five semi-finalists were narrowed down to the top six bands.

Sectr 5 plays 70s rock, Lost Highway plays country, Lady Luck performs 80s rock, Sustain is on the punk rock side, Oldie Moldie All-Stars plays classic 50-60s music and Sweet Stache brings back the 80s favorites.

On Saturday, November 28 the final challenge of the competition will be the live Battle of the Bands performances. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the first band will take the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets are only $10 at the Box Office for a great night of live entertainment. The bands will be judged by professionals in the music industry and they will evaluate each band based on their musical ability, stage presence, technical ability, audience reaction and professionalism. They will be competing for cash prizes and a contract to perform at Parlay Lounge. There is an additional category of “Fan Favorite” that the audience can vote on that night.

Treasure Island’s new 3,000-seat Island Event Center features the L’Acoustics Linerray V-Dos Sound System, which is the preferred system of a majority of national touring groups. There are also two 14 by 24-foot retractable video screens offer guests an unparalleled entertainment experience.
