Shake Things up at the Island Event Center
Red Wing, Minn. (May 20, 2009) Don’t settle for average entertainment this summer. Get to the Island and shake things up. KC and The Sunshine Band will be bringing their funky mix of pop and disco to Treasure Island Resort & Casino’s Event Center on Saturday, June 6. With 15 members of this dynamic group, you are guaranteed to “Shake Your Booty” as they rock you all night! KC & The Sunshine Band is still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced onto the music scene 36 years ago. Harry Wayne Casey – KC, for short – developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like Get Down Tonight, That’s The Way (I Like It), Please Don’t Go, and Shake Your Booty. The band took their name from Casey’s last name (“KC”) and the “Sunshine Band” from KC’s home state of Florida, which is “the Sunshine State”. KC sang Get Down Tonight on American Idol in April 2009. KC and The Sunshine Band will perform in Treasure Island’s new 3,000-seat Island Event Center. Every seat in the house is within 125 feet of the stage, giving the entire audience an intimate experience with this legendary rock band. The acoustics and Elacoustics Linerray V-Dos Sound System, not found at any other casino in Minnesota, and two 14 by 24-foot retractable video screens offer guests an unparalleled concert experience. Appearing for one night only, Saturday June 6 at 8 pm. Reserved seat tickets are on sale now and going quickly. The cost is only $35. Call the Treasure Island Box Office at 877-849-1640 or online at www.treasureislandcasino.com.
