Heart to perform at Treasure Island Event Center

Red Wing, Minn. (March 12, 2009) – Treasure Island Resort & Casino will present a special concert appearance of Heart on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 8 p.m. Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart are legends in the rock music industry and fans can experience their performance up close and personal in the Island Event Center.

Ann Wilson and her younger sister, Nancy, first showed the world that women can rock when their band, Heart, stormed the charts in the '70s with hits like "Crazy on You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," "Straight On," "Even It Up," and "Kick It Out." They continued topping the charts through the ‘80s and into the ‘90s with hits like "These Dreams," "Alone," "What About Love," "If Looks Could Kill," "Never," all of which showcased the sisters' enormous talents as both musicians and singers.

Along the way, Heart sold more than 30 million records, had 21 top 40 hits, sold out arenas worldwide, and had a profound influence on rock music. After taking a break in the late 1990's to start families and pursue individual projects, the Wilson sisters came back together as Heart in 2002, recorded and released a highly acclaimed album of 15 new original recordings in 2004 and have been touring ever since.

ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) will honor Heart's Ann & Nancy Wilson with the prestigious ASCAP Founders Award during its 26th Annual Pop Music Awards. The invitation-only gala will take place on April 22, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. The ASCAP Founders Award is among the most prestigious honors that ASCAP gives to songwriters who have made pioneering contributions to music by inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators. Each recipient is a musical innovator who possesses a unique style of songwriting genius that will enrich generations to come.
