Margaret Cho Brings her Stand-Up Comedy to the Treasure Island Event Center Red Wing, Minn. (March 4, 2009) – Treasure Island Resort & Casino is excited to bring Margaret Cho to the new Island Event Center on April 4, 2008 at 8 p.m. Cho has returned to her stand-up roots with her new tour Beautiful. Cho is well known internationally for her stand-up work. She started performing stand-up at age 16 in a comedy club above a bookstore that her parents ran. Soon after, she won a comedy contest where first prize was opening for Jerry Seinfeld. Arsenio Hall introduced her to late night audiences, Bob Hope put her on a prime time special, and seemingly overnight, Cho became a national celebrity. Cho was the recipient of the first ever Best Comedy Performance award at the 2007 Asian Excellence Awards. She also received the First Amendment Award from the ACLU of Southern California, and the Intrepid Award from the National Organization for Women (NOW). She has also been honored by several other national organizations for making a significant difference in promoting equal rights for all, regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender identity.
