Celebrate 25 Years of Island Bingo

Red Wing, Minn. (February 26, 2009) – Saturday, February 28 is the 25th anniversary of Island Bingo at Treasure Island Resort & Casino. Island Bingo will be giving away $25,000 in Bingo prizes and discounts. This Bingo Birthday Bash will have two sessions, with separate drawings taking place. The Matinee session is at 12:30 p.m. Island Bingo will give away $1,000 cash, standard and deluxe suite hotel rooms, bowling packages and Bingo certificates. The Hot Seat promotion adds a new level of excitement to the matinee. Previous winners from the month will get a chance to play a special game for big prizes.

The evening Bingo Birthday Bash will have a $1,000 cash Hot Seat promotion, with other prizes such as free standard and deluxe suite hotel rooms, bowling packages and Bingo certificates. A special game will be played for previous Bingo winners as well. The evening session starts at 7:30 p.m.

Other fun facts include:
•When the Island Bingo hall first opened it held 1300 guests and it was strictly Bingo- there was no Casino area.
•One of the Bingo hall’s current team members was on the construction crew and actually helped build the Bingo hall. (Then when it opened he was hired in the Bingo hall and has been here ever since.)
•Both of the Bingo day clerks (Barb Wiley and Jack Harvey) have only worked in the Bingo hall.
•The Island Bingo team members only sold paper Bingo sheets and the electronic version came years later.
•There have been varieties of Bingo games played during the 25 years, including one where the Island Bingo team members would get a pie thrown in their face.
